Effects of political crisis in Egypt could have influenced the countries adjacent to them. One is Israel’s closest ally possible loss. At the same time Israel was also surprised by the betrayal of the President of the United States (U.S.), Barack Obama against Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. Many observers were surprised by the large U.S. stance of other European allies, who seem ready to throw away a relationship with Egypt. Hosni Mubarak’s government itself is considered as the closest ally of the west countries for 30 years.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had previously been ordered to the ranks of his ministers to not issue a comment on the condition that occurs in Cairo today. This was done to avoid overheating in the already chaotic atmosphere in Egypt.
But President Shimon Peres has issued a statement on Egypt. “We (Israel) still and continue to respect President Mubarak,” Peres said as quoted by Reuters on Tuesday (01/02/2011).
“It does not entirely true. But one important thing that he continues to do is help the peace in the Middle East,” said Shimon Peres.
No less scorn on the U.S. attitude toward Egypt continued betrayal expressed by some parties in Israel. Most of them call President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton’s Foreign Minister, has attacked President Mubarak from the rear.
Obama and Clinton even accused of a naive diplomacy, at the same time want to win themselves to the conditions prevailing in Egypt.
